I really pushed for a good background in these pages, while still keeping the color palette unified. For the cars, I pulled from a bunch of photo reference.
Using photo reference isn’t cheating, contrary to popular belief. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. If you want to get accurate backgrounds and props, referencing the real thing is the best thing you can do for yourself. In this case, I had to pull from several photos to get the look I wanted for the junkyard and magnetic crane. And that’s the tip of the day from yours truly. XDD

D8> Leo dats so evil! I love how it kinda looks like ( to my anyways) that hes smirking the whole time
thats hilarious, i love Evil Leo!
leo, did you even think about this when ronnie asured you that he wouldn’t kill him?
I have a feeling the “You can use this chance to crush the competition” from the last page is gonna come into play soon.
WOW gosh great job on the backgrounds! Absolutely lovely. Lelele
NO! D8 Get outta the car, man!
Oooohh. Now the cover makes sense!
What kinda bently is that?
Sorry, guess the photo is hard to see at that small size. A ’60 s2.
wow, Fyu! I’m impressed with how much heart and soul ya put into this background! And i see what ya mean about how you can put texture in lineart too, not just color schemes. That crane looks so dirty and gritty, i love it. Even though you say the same to me a lot, you’re going to go places too, Fyu. You got skills, QUICK skills, and just… everything a professional cartoonist has.
